Manager - Drilling and Completions

This leading oil and gas exploration and production company is looking for an exceptional individual to perform this pivotal role.

You will lead the company’s exploration and development drilling operations and completions across Australia and international locations.

Drive EHS&S performance across the function to achieve Corporate EHS targets for all Drilling & Completion teams

• Ensure compliance with all EHS policies and procedures
• Ensure responsibility and accountability at the proper levels of the D&C organisation
• Monitor contractor compliance and drive resolution of underperformance
• Measure and manage EHS goals and performance
• Provide functional leadership across the organisation to implement clear structure of systems and standards for drilling and completions operations and ensure compliance with drilling policies, standards and procedures

Lead the Drilling and Completions function across on-shore Australia (excluding Completions), off-shore Australia, coal seam gas and international operations to deliver top quartile performance in all well engineering /operational activities

Direct and manage the allocation of drilling budget and resources across assets in line with portfolio requirements

Contribute expert advice and critical review to projects, including new ventures, growth and development opportunities, as well as joint venture partners

Develop and implement Corporate rig strategy, oversee rig procurement and utilisation for all of the Company’s operations including rig solicitations, bids and contract negotiations.

Provide expert advice during periods of operational adversity

Recruit, develop and retain necessary personnel to staff all drilling and completions groups and manage any associated risks

Lead and oversee the professional and technical development of staff within the department, including the use of appropriate HR systems and Technical Ladders

Ensure that all processes are in place and operations provide for the supervision of all necessary regulatory material for submitting to all required governmental agencies

You will have had diverse and significant drilling engineering and operational experience spanning at least 15 years; experience in a senior people leadership role, ideally managing a large and dispersed team and have been in a functional leadership role for the Drilling business within organisations. You will have Strong EHS&S ethos and ability to drive safety culture across teams; superb Strong verbal and written communications skills; and be a champion of change able to drive continuous improvement within the function.
